Today the UN Security Council voted on a draft resolution put forth by Egypt, New Zealand and Spain that called for a ceasefire in the devastating fighting in eastern Aleppo city.
The measure was vetoed by Russia and China. Venezuela also voted against the measure, Angola abstained, and the other 11 members voted in favor.
