International Peace and Security Institute (IPSI) – Tug of War in the Middle East: Russia and NATO in the Syrian Context; SIMULATION

February 1, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

SIMULATION: Tug of War in the Middle East: Russia and NATO in the Syrian Context
Hosted by the International Peace and Security Institute (IPSI)

This simulation is designed to examine the role of NATO in the 21st century through the lens of Syria as a tug of war between Russia and the West. It provides an opportunity for participants to have a real world context for the theoretical debate surrounding NATO’s role in the context of Russia and the Syrian Civil War.

You will be assigned the role of NATO, Turkey, Russia or the U.S. and will be able to practice your negotiation skills on their behalf, while engaging in a debate about the appropriate roles of each actor in the conflict.
