ON THE BORDER: Syrian Refugees in Turkey
Featuring a panel of experts from the field to discuss refugee issues in Turkey. Accompanied by the photo exhibit, On the Border: Syrian Women and Children, by Sinem Oğuz. Lunch will be provided.
New York University and Turkish Heritage Organization invite you for a discussion on Syrian refugee issues, with a special focus on children and youth. The discussion will feature a panel of experts who have experience working with Syrian refugees on the ground.
The health, well-being and education of the youngest generation are among the most important considerations for countries hosting refugees from Syria. With three million refugees, Turkey has been generously leading efforts to improve the lives of those who have fled the Syrian civil war. However, there are numerous challenges that Turkey cannot fully address without the help and support of the international community.
During the discussion, the panelists will raise awareness about critical humanitarian aid activities covering psychological, physical and educational well-being, which are often overlooked during refugee crises.
